Your Kingdom need You! 12th Nov 2017

Your Kingdom needs You!!     John 15:9-17   Mark 8 31 And He began to teach them that the Son of Man must suffer many things, and be rejected by the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and after three days rise again. 32 He spoke this word openly. Then Peter took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. 33 But when He had turned around and looked at His disciples, He rebuked Peter, saying, “Get behind Me, Satan! For you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.” 34 When He had called the people to Himself, with His disciples also, He said to them, “Whoever desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. 35 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. 36 For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? 37 Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul? 38 For whoever is ashamed of Me and My words in this adulterous and sinful generation, of him the Son of Man also will be ashamed when He comes in the glory of His Father with the holy angels.” Jesus calls us to follow him personally. This call is at the very heart of the Gospel   Over the last 4 weeks I ave had an overwhelming burden for God’s word and not to preach in any wishy washy manner, because I feel where God is taking us, we need bold preaching to get us ready for the task ahead!!   This image, designed by Alfred Leete (1882–1933), and famous for Kitchener’s pointing finger and the words ‘Your Country Needs You’, has become an icon of the enlistment frenzy. However, it did not appear in poster form until the end of September 1914, after signing-up peaked Join your countries Army,  God save the King   This call is a call is a call to leave everything behind   “One of the disciples said to him, ‘Lord, let me go first and bury my father.’ But Jesus answered him, ‘Follow me, and let the dead bury their dead'” (Mt 8:21-22).     How may times do we say “ I will give my all to Jesus, when this happens or I’ll wait until”…. This Call to follow is a call to self denial and even to death………… but whoever loses his life for My sake and the gospel’s will save it. This call is a call to a future...

The warnings of The king – 29th October 2017

The second coming of Christ is mentioned 318 times in the 260 chapters of the New Testament; and it occupies 1 in every 25 verses from Matthew to Revelation. The Bible contains over 300 predictions about the FIRST coming of Christ as Saviour; but it contains 2,500 references to HIS second coming as King. Can we just  pause  here and see and understand how important this subject is in the plan of God   …………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………   The 1970’s , 1980’s and 1990’s seen an increase of false Christs and doctrines that would lead people away from Jesus and his truth.     The Church in the west today has shied away from the topic in fear of dividing the body of Christ through escheologitical  differences. Some people take it too the extreme and some people are passive about it.     We need to agree on one thing:   Christ’s second coming will be physical, bright, loud and glorious. This event cannot be hidden, every human on planet earth will see Jesus. He will come back personally and literally. Revelation 1:7 says, “Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him.” There will not be a person on earth who is unaware of Jesus’ return. Jesus Himself describes the manner of His coming. Matthew 24:27 states that the return of Christ will be like the brightness of lightning illuminating the entire sky from the east to the west. Verses 30 and 31 of the same chapter describe Jesus coming with power and great glory and with the sound of a great trumpet, that awakens the righteous dead who are then gathered from the ends of the earth. Nothing secret about that! The MANNEROF HIS COMING WILL BE:     PERSONAL 1 Thess 4:16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a cry of command, with the voice of an archangel, and with the sound of the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. Acts 1:11 “Men of Galilee,” they said, “why do you stand here looking into the sky? This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven LITERALL Acts 1:11 , will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven   VISIBLE 1 John 3:2 “But we know that when Christ appears, we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is. Luke 21:27 At that time they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. Rev 1:7...

Choosing the Best Place

Choosing the best place   Feeling overwhelmed on Monday last week, I needed prayer ASAP.  Everything had been building up over the last 3 weeks, the stress, worrying about everyone, running about everywhere and feeling I wasn’t getting anything done , I was at breaking point and in all honesty and sincerity, that’s how I felt. Let me tell you , being a Pastor is not easy. Worst thing you could say to a Pastor is “ you only work one day a week” Please don’t think I’m looking for sympathy. I am being open this morning and in being open I learned something of great value and significance that I can pass on to the Church this morning.   I went and got prayed for and just laid on the carpet of the living room in tears.   “ Lord I pray that you would speak to Pastor Jimmie’s heart right now” Please choose people of prayer and passion to be open with, get yourself into a place of humility and the Lord responds!!! That was all that was needed in that prayer for to Jesus responded instantly.   All I heard was ““Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her” I knew this story well and knew straight away what Jesus was saying to me….   Luke 10:38-42 38 Now it happened as they went that He entered a certain village; and a certain woman named Martha welcomed Him into her house. 39 And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus’[a] feet and heard His word. 40 But Martha was distracted with much serving, and she approached Him and said, “Lord, do You not care that my sister has left me to serve alone? Therefore tell her to help me.” 41 And Jesus[b] answered and said to her, “Martha, Martha, you are worried and troubled about many things. 42 But one thing is needed, and Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her.”     There was nothing wrong with what Martha was doing, it was her attitude that was wrong, she was coming from a place of stress and anxiety,  she wasn’t enjoying (obviously serving Jesus) because she was complaining about it.   Philippians 2:14 “Do everything without complaining or arguing” How can we be in the presence of Jesus and moan?? Jesus would have probably encouraged Martha if she served with all humility. It’s not everyday that the King of Kings comes to your house!!   Jesus wasn’t...

An Everlasting Love

A revelation of God’s love is foundational to everything. It is even foundation to who God is, for “God is Love.” God exists in an active state of love.  Richard Towe   Refelct for a moment the magnitude of the invitation you have received through the gospel call, an invitation to join God Himself in an eternal fellowship of love. It is essential that you and I see to the fullest extent possible the love God has for us as His children. Our ability to trust Him through life’s experiences depends on that revelation.   That’s why Paul prayed for Christians in in Eph. 3:17 that we would be “…rooted and grounded in love” and that we would “…be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height — 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge.”   Eph 3:8-19  To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to make all see what is the fellowship[a] of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ;[b] 10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him. 13 Therefore I ask that you do not lose heart at my tribulations for you, which is your glory. 14 For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,[c] 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, 18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height— 19 to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.   Paul doesn’t pray about having a bigger church or finances………..   Paul prayed for the thing they needed most: to know the love of God: not just head knowledge, but experiential knowledge that comes out of personal interaction with God. That knowledge lays the foundation for your walk with God. It Shapes your...

He is Worthy – 24th Sept 2017

Are we worthy?   Sunday morning – Burning in my heart HE IS WORTHY deserving effort, attention, or respect Revelation 1 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants—things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, 2 who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. 3 Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. Greeting the Seven Churches 4 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, 5 and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed[a] us from our sins in His own blood, 6 and has made us kings[b] and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. 7 Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. 8 “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End,”[c] says the Lord,[d] “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.” Vision of the Son of Man 9 I, John, both[e] your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. 10 I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, 11 saying, “I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last,” and,[f] “What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia:[g] to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea.” 12 Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, 13 and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. 14 His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire;...

Peace from the Prince

“For a child will be born to us, a son will be given to us; And the government will rest on His shoulders; And His name will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Eternal Father, Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).   Jesus has many titles……but this title enables me to stand in complete security knowing that He is MY PEACE!! No matter what I face, emotional, physical or spiritual…HE IS MY PEACE..MY PRINCE OF PEACE We lost our SECURITY, ACCEPTENCE AND SIGNIFICANCE!!!! And where these 3 things are lacking….we have no peace!!!   What Peace does Jesus offer us??   A state of security -, freedom from oppression, strife and disorder. In harmony in personal relations. Untroubled by conflict, agitation or commotion. Is peace desirable? Do you have it? Would you like to have it? How may we receive true peace.     And through the cross and what jesus bore, he offers this back to us. Because we have gone through life trying to get it back in all different ways.   For us to have Peace, it cost Jesus His life     1 Coll : 20-22 and through Him to reconcile to Himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through the blood of His cross. 21Once you were alienated from God and were hostile in your minds because of your evil deeds. 22But now He has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy, unblemished, and blameless in His presence—…   What a position to be in,in life, nothing that we done, but because of His amazing love and mercy towards us!!!   Isaiah 53 Read…………       He has borne our grief’s Sickness, disease.   Our original corruptions are the sickness and disease of the soul   In these versions, the sense is that of sustaining, bearing, upholding, carrying, as when one removes a burden from the shoulders of another, and places it on his own.   Matthew 11:28 Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. 29 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”     Because he took it upon himself Analogy of container!!!!!!!!!   And carried our sorrows…Literally in the Hebrew… Pain , sufferings, sorrow. longings V3 A man of soorows and aquainted with grief……. Carrying it around every day!!!!   He was wounded for our transgressions He was pieced through….to perforate …. separation of two sections of the material,...
